A Transfer Without Changing Seats

Conventional transit often asks a passenger from a branch route to leave one vehicle, wait, and board another on the main line. Modular transit proposes a different physical transfer: compatible vehicle units can separate and join while passengers remain seated in the unit serving their destination.

The first act follows a traveler from the end of a local branch through a normal transfer. A separate demonstration then shows one unit detaching from a group, exchanging passengers, and joining another group. In the final act, the traveler boards a local module directly, that module joins a two-unit mainline group, and later separates to reach the destination branch. The number of passenger transfers falls even though the route structure remains. The key insight is that the transfer is performed by the vehicle modules instead of by people. This requires coordinated coupling, routing, and station operations; the animation conveys the concept rather than claiming that those practical challenges have disappeared.
